It really drives me crazy that I can't copy and paste into Typepad without my font going all wonky.
For those of you (read, my family) that don't know, today is National Scrapbooking Day. It's a pretty big deal for us scrapbookers.
We're having a HUGE party over at SIS with tons of challenges and prizes and giveaways, come on over!
I hosted a Why I Rock challenge, basically all about being positive and focusing on the good things about ourselves instead of the negative for a change, and then scrapping it. (run on sentence, i know) There's still time if you'd like to participate, it's open till tomorrow at noon CST. And here's the page I made for the challenge.

I've had a lot on my mind this week about how we open ourselves up on the WWW for all to see...my journaling talks about that. it reads:

I just booked a photo session with this amazing photographer. I'm so excited, I haven't really found anyone in my area that shares the same view that I do, without charging 50 trillion dollars. It's not until June, but that's okay. I finally realized that while I love the photos I've been taking of Brad and Ayla, I'm never in them. Also, let's be honest here, I still have a looong way to go with this photography thing.
Also. It is imperative that you head over to SIS and check out Kerry Lynne's tutorial. This chick is insanely creative, and you'll thank me for it. Promise.
I FINALLY finished editing photos for my lovely friend Miranda....we did 3 shoots while she was pregnant, this was our very first with her adorable kiddo Marissa, here to fore referred to as Rissy. 
and these are of our cousin Sarah and her daughter Makenna right before she had her beautiful boy Aiden.

Actually, I kinda love them, but it does mean the weekend is over, which saddens me.
It was a good one though, this weekend. Brad and I watched Cloverfield Friday night. I had no interest whatsoever in seeing this movie, but I completely loved it. Like wanna watch it again 50 times loved it. Kinda doomsday, kinda scary, real good. I've really been stuck in this end of the world business lately, I'm constantly afraid that between gas prices, economy, owing China a gajillion dollars, natural disasters, depleting of the Earth's natural resources, increasing global hatred for anything'Western', war in Iraq, North Korea, and 500 other things that it really is the end of the world as we know it. Or if not now, soon. Maybe not in my lifetime, but certainly in my daughters. But I'm a pessimist. I have a feeling that every generation has felt this at one time or another; I remember my Mom telling me about the Cuban Missile Crisis and how frightened they were then. Which also leads me to another topic very dear to my heart....the upcoming Presidential election. Just in case anyone cares a whit about where I stand (I do realize noone does), I VERY VERY firmly believe this nation is indeed in crisis right now, (pessimist) and the horizon only looks darker. I also VERY VERY VERY firmly believe that John McCain is the only man that can save this country, for a multitude of reasons, but numero uno being experience.
Dear Lord, where did all that come from? I only meant to talk about Cloverfield, and some scraps. Back to Cloverfield. Watch it. If you haven't. It's awesome, though it will make you think more about the end of the world, even if it only comes in the form of a 350 foot weirdo monster.
Some scrap news....the lovely and very talented ladies over at The Design Experiment have asked me to guest design for them....and strangely enough the page I made has a lot to do with the rant up above you just read. (On my mind much?)
Finally got my Style Phyle subscription from Scrap In Style. There are only a limited number of subs for these and I've been dying to get one for the last 3 months. No more waiting for me though.....this was with April's Style Phyle, Jim and Pam. (named after the best show in the history of television programming)
Also, this Tuesday is my first ever challenge as a Fashionista. I'm pretty excited about it. You can check it out at the Challenge Blog.

I got my first ever collection from SIS the other day...had lots of fun making a page for Brad with it.
Yesterday was our fearless leader Jeanette's birthday. Made this canvas for her, I hope she likes it! I can't say enough how thankful I am that JJ chose me to be a Fashionista, I am truly loving every minute of it. There is so much inspiration and friendship and community over at SIS....I feel blessed to have been chosen to design for them.
and then...Celine posted a challenge for us to scrap bad habits....since everyone else is off having fun at Scrap Etc.
Here's mine, I talk about my occasional battle with laziness.
and just for good measure, I page I did of Ayla and I all snuggled up.
In other news....I got a new job. I love my current job, I really do, but this is just such a better opportunity for my family. I'll work at our local high school from 7-3 or so Monday -Friday, entire month of July off (though not this year since I don't start till August), 2 weeks at Christmas, week at Easter, and all those other kajillion holidays school staff has off. It's about 5 minutes from my house too...and since gas is outrageous that will be a blessing. I will really, really hate to leave where I'm at though, so that will be bittersweet.

Shares her birthday, and her middle name, with my Mom. And today, she helped me to heal. She made me smile, and allowed me to remember that my Mom is watching, she is not completely gone, and that no matter what she lives on inside of the 2 of us.
And I need a smile today.
I'm SICK.

Like up half the night getting sick kind of sick.
Blech.
